SEARCH STRINGS FOR NOVEMBER 2007
Back in the day, I used to maintain a web comic called Mystery Castle. It wasn't especially popular, certainly not compared to a lot of my contemporaries, but each month on the forums we would discuss our usage statistics, which provided comprehensive stats about how people found our website. It was a fun pastime, because most of the time when someone saw an increase in their traffic, everybody else saw an increase as well. The best part about it, however, was comparing our search strings. Every month we'd wind up with a few odd ones, and enjoyed comparing our results.

On Arctic Sunburn, until this month, I didn't see any search strings in my usage statistics so it's safe to assume that no one found my website through web searches. However, this month a few search strings popped up, and I thought I would share them with you. It always seems to take awhile before the spiders crawl your site and scan the content, unless of course you submit your pages every time you make a change to them. Therefore, it always seems to take awhile before you start to see search strings in your usage statistics. In any case, without further ado, here are this month's search strings:

Top 4 of 4 Total Search Strings
# Hits Search String
1 1 25.00% arcticsunburn
2 1 25.00% music related articles
3 1 25.00% music related interviews
4 1 25.00% sunburn articles

It seems to me that these are perfectly respectable search strings with which to find my website. There's nothing here that's especially absurd or amusing. In the coming months I expect to see more searches related to 'guitar', 'wallpaper', and maybe something odd like 'porcupine'. So, until next month, keep searching!
