Since I will have a mandolin in my possession for a month, I've decided to conduct a 30 day experiment. I don't have any strict rules for this trial, except to play mandolin for 30 minutes every day. At the end of 30 days I will decide if it's an instrument I want to continue playing.

I realize that mandolin isn't exactly related to guitar, but my posts will be kept under '30 day trials' in the guitar section. I'm sure that the skills I learn on mandolin can benefit me in my understanding of music, regardless of whether it makes me a better guitar player.

So far I've started working on Two Finger Mandolin Chords, and I intend to branch out as I make further progress.
