I've been experimenting with a thicker pick today. When I first started playing mandolin it didn't feel right, but I'm discovering that thicker (harder) picks can work too.

Until now I've been playing with medium picks, which has worked pretty well. All in all it's a matter of preference, but if you're a hard picker (strummer) then you may want to stick to the thin ones.
